About Cattle Ranch Calc

Cattle Ranch Calc (CRC) is an independent web project that provides free, practical calculators for cattle producers, cow-calf operators, stocker managers, and ranch planners. Our goal is simple: put reliable field math in your browser so you can plan stocking rates, feed, water, economics, and weather risk without spreadsheets or sign-up walls.

The site includes dozens of livestock and ranch tools covering pasture stocking and AUM planning, cattle profit and break-even analysis, hay and feed requirements, gestation and management calendars, heat/cold/mud stress indexes, TMR ration balancing, and private local ranch logs. Tools are designed to work well on phones in the pickup or at the kitchen table.

Formulas draw from widely used agricultural extension and livestock planning standards (including AUM/stocking concepts, NASEM/NRC nutrition framing, and common THI / climate stress approaches). Defaults are starting points — every tool lets you adjust weights, prices, forage yield, efficiency, and local conditions. See our methodology page for more detail.
